Our Strategy and Innovation professionals explore complex business issues; conduct consumer, competitive and market analyses; create financial models and develop action plans to drive tangible growth and business transformation. They are trailblazers in collaboration, working closely with internal business leaders and a strong external network of startups, investment bankers, and industry-thought leaders/academics to find new ways to reinvent and energize the business.

We are looking for a Strategy and Innovation intern to work alongside management to provide thought leadership to our senior leaders and the broader organization to galvanize our teams around common goals. With top talent and the DNA to catalyze action, the Strategy team will help chart Mutual's path forward!


WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Participates in the business operation and gains knowledge of the business and its environment.
  • Engages in effective and efficient work processes to contribute to the achievement of strategy and innovation business objectives in the areas of strategic intelligence, strategy, innovation, enterprise planning, corporate development, strategic partnerships, business transformation and customer experience.
  • In collaboration with cross functionals teams and/or directed by business leaders, completes challenging projects and key initiatives that align and support the business strategy, goals and at a Fortune 500 company.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external business partners and customers.
  • Collects, maintains, and analyzes information to make data driven decisions and recommendations. Compiles reports, communicates findings, and makes recommendations.
  • Participates in opportunities for professional and personal development outside of core role such as industry awareness, communication and presentation skills, critical thinking, and priority management.
  • Provides thought leadership and research for multiple disciplines within the strategy and innovation organization. Utilizes a curious and growth mind-set and develops creative and innovation business solutions.


ABOUT YOU:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and 4-5 years of business experience, working in an operational capacity involving cross functional collaboration
  • Currently enrolled in a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program
  • Job-related coursework related to the internship.
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written), interpersonal, presentation and project management skills
  • Strong critical thinking, research, analytical, problem-solving and judgment skills; ability to bring new, unique and creative ideas to the company
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills; self-motivated and directed, adaptable, team focused and detail oriented
  • Ability to work efficiently in pressure situations and demonstrate a high level of flexibility in a rapidly changing environment. Handles multiple and diverse complex assignments/projects simultaneously
  • Strong knowledge of and ability to use various business software applications on a personal computer including word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications relevant to the internship.
  • Promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion within the department and the larger organization; values different ideas and opinions; listens courageously and remains curious in all work- related tasks/activities
  • Able to work remotely and have access to high-speed internet.
