Recruiting Internship - Spring Semester 2022
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to recruit for animation? You've come to the right place!
Our primary goal for the recruiting internship is to assist students in developing an understanding of the animation industry and what hiring managers are looking for when reviewing portfolios. The student will gain exposure to recruiting software, build their network, supervisor feedback and get an inside look to what it really takes to land a job in the animation industry.
Internships at Titmouse are currently unpaid and reserved for college students who will receive credit from their school for the internship. Our internship program is based on a semester schedule and interns have a variety of duties. We require the intern to commit at least 2 full days a week.
Deadline to Apply: November 28, 2021 @ 11:59pm PT
Interviews scheduled between: Dec 5 - Dec 12, 2021
Acceptance letters sent out by: mid December 2021
REQUIREMENTS
- We'd like someone with a good artistic eye, able to differentiate artistic styles/skill levels and match them with the open productions.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- A love for word processing, spreadsheets and database applications (such as Google Suite, AirTable, etc).
- Ability to quickly learn new software applications.
- Maintain confidentiality over all matters and proprietary information.
- Bonus: Familiar with the animation pipeline, has the potential for art roles but also has interest in talent management.
- This internship is open to remote candidates.
THE EXPERIENCE
- Most importantly: Interns will learn about what productions and hiring managers are looking for when they're hiring artists!
- Receive a portfolio review at the beginning of the internship and at the end of the internship to compare how you've progressed.
- Sit in on interviews for artistic and supervisor positions, learn the do's and don'ts of interviews and how to take accurate notes.
- Interns will get to sit in on staffing meetings with live productions and see how a team is assembled.
- Interns will have access to different test assignments the studio sends out. This assignment gives the intern access to not only the test materials as practice assignments, but also what the completed tests look like, what the supervisor's assessment of the tests are and who ends up passing the test.
- Must research and reach out to 5 Titmouse professionals in the departments or shows they're interested in for informational interviews.
- Interns will get an inside look at the hiring platform we use at Titmouse! They will get the opportunity to review job applicants and practice assessing if the candidate will be a good fit for the production under the supervision of the Artistic Recruiter.
If you're not sure what you want to be doing in the animation industry just yet, or wondering how your skill compares to other artists applying, this is an amazing opportunity to really get the behind the scenes look at the hiring process! There is no better place to build your network than in the recruiting department where you have access to many different shows and professionals. Finding a job is hard, but hopefully with all that you'll gain from this internship, you'll be better equipped to effectively apply for and land jobs in the future!
We recommend applying with a resume and/or portfolio link.
