Your Opportunity

Scion is paving a path in student living and we are seeking a talented Project Analyst to join us in executing our vision. This position will support special projects, focusing on obtaining critical market research and data points such as campus enrollment, campus housing capacity and occupancy, and conduct market research to understand the conditions in the off-campus market.

Scion's Advisory Services practice strives to be the foremost expert in all aspects of student housing. With our unparalleled perspective and custom suite of services, we partner with both institutions of higher education and off-campus providers to address the challenges of today, anticipate the needs of tomorrow and empower our partners to maximize every student's residential experience.

The Project Analyst will be assigned to client project teams and assist in the completion of client deliverables through desktop and on-site data collection and analysis. They will use organizational and analytical skills for research and to develop original content for clients. This role demands a self-motivated and independent working-style, highly developed communication skills, mastery of priorities, exceptional organizational skills and a customer-centric attitude.


Your Responsibilities

Data Collection

  • Collect relevant data from relevant (primarily web-based) resources, organizing and summarizing student survey response data for use by the project team.
  • Organize and summarize current campus enrollment and housing conditions, as well as off-campus market information.
  • Participate in creating web-based surveys to gather quantitative feedback on topics such as enrollment management, occupancy/capacity of student living facilities, and financial data.
  • Review data and information provided by clients for accuracy and usability; submit follow-up requests as needed.
  • Participate in on-site data collection activities (including but not limited to student and stakeholder interviews, off-campus rental market, and existing campus conditions)—travel may be possible, but only as desired.

Client Deliverables

  • Review and analyze relevant data to complete assigned reporting and client deliverables.
  • Assist in the preparation and production of client deliverables.
  • Leverage presentation software, data visualization techniques and communication skills to generate reports/summaries to clients.

What We Require

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1 year of prior experience in higher education and professional services (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Outstanding writing and verbal communication skills
  • Strong research, statistical or analytical skills
  • Intermediate proficiency with Qualtrics XM

Operational Details

  • Employment term of November through end of January, with potential to extend to permanent hire.
  • Option for either remote work or in-person assignment based at Scion's Chicago corporate headquarters.
  • Working hours consist of standard daytime business hours, a minimum of 30 hours per week.
  • Travel, if interested, may occasionally be needed (paid by the company).
