What you would be a part of:
The Broadcast Production team is responsible for producing the Focus on the Family Daily Broadcast and additional audio products (promos, spots, podcasts, commentaries, etc) for the Ministry. Interns in this area will be assisting in small, medium and long format audio production, editing/mixing of audio and basic broadcasting board operation.

What a day in the life looks like:
  • Focus on the Family Minutes (FOFMs) – recording, assembling, editing and mixing this : 60 Mon-Fri promotion.
  • Focus on the Family Commentary (FOFCs) – recording, assembling, editing and mixing this : 90 Monday-Friday commentary.
  • Rough Editing – taking raw audio and editing it in Pro Tools.
  • Board Operation – assist in recording short feature interviews.
  • MOS – recording and producing “Man on the Street” comments.
Our goals are for you to:
  • Develop confidence and experience in audio production
  • Enhance your production, editing and communication skills
  • Produce and assist producing audio productions which can be added to your portfolio
What makes you a good fit for the Broadcast Production team:
  • Broadcasting or Audio Production major or similar
  • Spoken-word audio editing experience
  • Gaining proficiency in DAW - Pro Tools (preferred), Adobe Audition, Logic
  • Experience in Broadcasting Board operation
  • Organized, teachable, self-motivated and confident

Additional Notes:
This position is an intern position only. There will be no compensation or pay with this position, but an honorarium will be provided, workday lunch, and housing for out of town students in need.
