INTERN EXPERIENCE AT UNITED WAY WORLDWIDE

Interns at United Way Worldwide gain valuable learning and working experience at a leading nonprofit organization. Our goal is to make every intern who works with us feel included, valuable, and productive. In addition to the hands-on experience you’ll receive working at the largest nonprofit in the world, you will be provided with weekly professional development workshops.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

The internship opportunities are open to current students of a college program, or within 2 years of graduating. Applicants must be eligible to work within the United States and have all documentation at the time of their application, including a Social Security Number.

POSITION SUMMARY

United Way Worldwide has a multi-tenant Salesforce.com instance in need of a dynamic, near-real time data dictionary. We are looking for an intern will the skills to develop an online data dictionary based on metadata stored in a SQL Server database. The elements of the data dictionary include objects, fields, parameters and admin-defined custom parameters. The data dictionary will be developed in PHP or another mutually agreeable language.

The audiences for the data dictionary include administrators and data leads from multiple local United Way organizations. This system will enable them to better understand the structure of the complex instance of Salesforce. Data security will need to be factored in when developing the tool as will design and ease of use.

The intern will work with members of the United Way Worldwide IT team to develop the tool. In addition, the developer will have as a guide a legacy prototype, however enhanced functionality will need to be developed to create a fully functional tool that will enhance the usability of the Salesforce.com instance.

We’re looking for an intern who can be responsible for the development of an online tool, from requirements to a documented, finished project. PHP skillset is preferred, but other mutually agreed upon languages are acceptable.
