Hitachi Energy is seeking a Marketing and Communications Intern for its Raleigh, NC location. We are looking for an innovative and creative self-starter with a passion for sustainability, technology, communications and digital media to join our collaborative and diverse team! Expand your knowledge of marketing and communications across multiple disciplines including but not limited to content writing, digital and social media, web development and optimization, and employee engagement! The role is based in Raleigh, NC but can be remote.

Your responsibilities

  • Content creation for internal employee communications
  • Help with writing, editing and proofreading industry thought leadership content such as articles, blogs, website content, etc
  • Help with creating social media content and graphics for our company’s corporate channels and employee social advocacy platform (Sociabble)
  • Assist with the production and promotion of our company’s podcast, Power Pulse
  • Assist with the planning, promotion, and execution of internal and external events, as needed
  • Assist with video strategy and production, as needed
  • Assist with web content and development, as needed
  • Collaborate with team members on new ideas and tools to improve our marketing and communication efforts
  • Work and communicate across businesses and functions to ensure consistency and continuity

Your background

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university program in the US and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or another related discipline
  • Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Experience with writing, editing, and producing content for various communications channels
  • Genuine enthusiasm for creating compelling communications materials revolved around sustainability, clean energy and innovative technologies
  • A strong understanding of social media tools and platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
  • A passion for learning new technologies, strategic thinking and problem-solving
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well independently and with a team, with good time management and strong attention to detail
  • (Preferred) Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Spark, After Effects and Premiere
  • (Preferred) Knowledge of video production and editing
  • (Preferred) Knowledge web design and optimization. Familiarity with SEO and HTML is a plus!
