About This Role:

Working for General Motors means leading the way for world-class vehicles and technology. The Marketing team consists of many disciplines including Global Marketing, Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, Motorsports, Advertising, Content Development, Digital, Fleet, Media and Experiential. As an integral part of the team, you will have an opportunity to work across one of these functions and help with key projects. Many projects include working on key vehicle launches, messaging new technology, creative and development in the digital space, develop initiatives to optimize sales and many more exciting opportunities. You will work cross-functionally and be a key team member in a fast-paced and highly engaging environment.

Additional Job Description
Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree focused in Marketing, Advertising, Marketing Research, Data Analysis and Analytics, Performance Marketing or Marketing Tech.
  • Must be Sophomore standing or higher
  • Demonstrates leadership in field of study, extra-curricular activities, or service organizations
  • Able to work full-time: 40 hours per week during the summer months

  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audience
  • Emerging partnership and collaboration skills and ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, takes initiative/self-directed
  • Evidence of strong character with integrity, honesty, accountability and trust

  • Excellent project management skills and the proven ability to manage multiple projects at any given

Product Marketing - Specific Project Details
  • Collaborate with a Product Manager and other Product Marketing team members on elements such as:
  • Identify key customer insights to enable future product content direction
  • Assist in researching and recommending future product option offerings
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Pricing, and Design teams to deliver on GM's Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion promise

Motorsports - Specific Project Details
  • Monitoring Motorsports trends and keeping team informed
  • Attending event and tradeshows
  • Competitive research and market analysis
  • Must be able to travel frequently
  • A love for racing!

The median level of the monthly salary compensation for this role is $4000 dependent upon class status and degree. Benefit options are not available for this role.

GM will provide a one-time lump sum taxable stipend payment to each student selected for the 2022 Student Program

This can be a remote and/or hybrid position; Remote: The selected candidate can reside and perform the work from anywhere within the United States. Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively.The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.
