Jr. Instructional Designer (VBA)

Position Description:

The Instructional Designer plans, designs, manages, and executes needs assessments and all phases of Instructional Systems Development (i.e. analysis, design, development, evaluation, and implementation) for training courses and training and performance support systems.

Please note that the work may be performed at our office in Orlando or remotely.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Systems Design, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or Educational Psychology (or similar fields with slightly different titles).
  • Adobe Captivate: minimum of two years of experience as a developer. ActionScript/advanced programming experience a plus.
  • Three years of experience in performing all phases of instructional systems development. Task analysis, test item development/assessment, and instructional design. Education may substitute for experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan, design, and execute needs assessments and all phases of instructional systems development (i.e. analysis, design, development, evaluation, and implementation) for training courses and training and performance support systems.
  • Design and deliver creative and instructionally sound training products for multiple modalities.
  • Provide first-hand, experienced input on creating training products that are Section 508 compliant.
  • Meet production deadlines.
  • Work with stakeholders to extract required information.
  • Facilitate data gathering workshops with Subject Matter Experts and other key stakeholders.
  • Recognize potential deviations from contract requirements and identify them to the Project Manager/Lead ISD as risks for mitigation prior to their becoming an out of scope issue.
  • Create products with extremely high attention to detail and accuracy, and work within a team environment.
  • Interact with team members and stakeholders in a problem-solving, constructive manner.
  • Perform multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

Work Conditions:

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment.
