Graduate Software Developer Intern Minimum Requirements:
- U.S. Citizen with eligibility to apply for and hold a U.S. security clearance
- Graduate Student in Computer Science / Mathematics / Physics / Engineering or related field
- Strong foundation in software development and experience with Python, Java, and/or C++
- Demonstrated experience going from problem statement to prototype to production-ready algorithms
Graduate Software Developer Intern Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the experience and skills above, if you have any of the following, you will be able to accelerate your effectiveness and impact.
- Experience with modern C++ and object-oriented programming
- Experience in cloud-based, parallel, or distributed computing
- Strong foundation in software development processes and tools (IDEs, version control, agile/scrum, CI/CD)
- Interest in physics-based modeling or Machine Learning
- UI/UX experience

Applied Research Associates, Inc. is seeking Interns to support multiple projects. Our staff of recognized experts uses state-of-the-art software to integrate accredited engineering models that provide complete, comprehensive answers for many diverse weaponeering and vulnerability assessment problems. We have expertise and provide engineering solutions in areas such as weapon penetration, cratering, blast effects, fragmentation, structural damage, human injury, weapons of mass destruction (WMD) agent release and dispersion, etc.
Additionally, our professional software development team has designed and produced software systems ranging from integrated multi-disciplinary design and optimization systems to 3D interactive design/analysis systems, weapons effects and operational mission planning systems, electronic technical manuals, cyber security applications, and multimedia database management systems.
