Huntington Capital Markets is looking to hire an Investment Banking Summer Analyst to join its Corporate and Leveraged Finance group in Charlotte, NC. The Investment Banking Summer Analyst will support the Corporate Finance industry coverage teams AND the Leveraged Finance origination group. Corporate Finance industry coverage partners with Huntington’s corporate bank to provide industry specific, product agnostic, corporate finance advice to Huntington’s upper middle market, mid-corporate, and large-corporate clients across the U.S., while the Leveraged Finance group originates both sponsored and non-sponsored leveraged finance transactions across Huntington’s upper middle market and mid-corporate clients. The Investment Banking Summer Analyst will work on lean deal teams to make an immediate impact on the business (typically with either an Associate or Vice President and either a Director or Managing Director).

Job Duties and Requirements:
Investment Banking Summer Analysts will be assigned to a variety of projects and are given a broad range of responsibilities, some of which include:
Conduct extensive quantitative economic, industry and company research and analysis
Model a broad range of corporate finance alternatives for client transactions including M&A, strategic alternatives, capital structure development, acquisition finance, syndicated loan and capital markets financing
Carry out fundamental credit analyses including analyzing credit documentation
Coordinate internal documentation with internal and external resources
Basic Qualifications:
High School graduate
Enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate accredited University
3.25 overall GPA
Sophomores or Juniors pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or S.T.E.M.
Cursory knowledge of corporate finance, securities, and financial markets
Aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information and develop ideas and/or solutions
Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency with FactSet, CapitalIQ, Bloomberg, and Microsoft Office a plus
Prior credit training and/ or leveraged finance experience is a plus, but not required
Creativity and intellectual curiosity to provide value to the team
Composure and confidence to manage conflicting priorities
Initiative and motivation to drive results
