Job Summary
The Data Analyst will support Paycor’s Client Service team by collecting and organizing data in a way that it can be used to identify useful business trends. Update and manage existing analytics database to keep reports up to date. Utilizes historical data sets to create reports and visuals for teams to leverage in decision making. Conducts research on specific areas of opportunities. Examines and evaluates business practices and systems and provides suggestions aimed at streamlining operations. Provides support with technical writing and editing as needed
The role is cross-functional and will require coordination with Client Service, Finance and IT resources. The Data Analyst will work on a variety of projects with internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will have great organizational skills, attention to detail and Quantitative skills. Be willing to learn independently and be curious about new tools that can be leveraged to improve processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting on department initiatives and status reports
  • Maintain and update relevant data sets and reports
  • Utilize Excel to complete ad hoc reporting as required
  • Partner with Sr. Analyst on more complex projects
  • Evaluates existing business practices and system and provide suggestions on possible enhancements
  • Regularly communicate and collaborate with multiple areas of the business (Operations, Finance, IT, Marketing, Sales) to understand where Paycor can use data/analysis to better inform decisions.
  • Design and generate ad hoc reports, regular datasets using available system tools and database queries and scripts.
  • Improve understanding of and adoption of standard analysis and statistical processes across areas of the business.
  • Maintain a working environment that is energized and consistently demonstrates the Paycor service commitment
  • Other duties as assigned
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or 2 years’ experience in related operations, reporting and systems role
  • Ability to collect, organize, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, etc.).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills in these areas required:
    • Pivot tables
    • Power Pivot
    • Data Querying
    • VBA
  • Data management and visualization skills/tools.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Object Orienting Programming (OOP) and Visual Basic programming preferred
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills; ability to work efficiently and effectively on project teams as well as independently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-task
