Junior Application Developer

Overview:
The Junior Application Developer will design, develop, test, document, and implement new and existing software applications and solutions. As a Junior Application Developer, you will be required to create BPM workflows, configure, and extend Appian objects and implement the system logic necessary to satisfy the requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Work with fellow team members and project leaders to design Appian applications, perform software configuration and customization, and create documentation.
- Refine and translate system software requirements specifications into structured Appian application programs.
- Configure, debug, test, and document new applications and enhancements, including but not limited to forms, reports, underlying logic, and interface components on development projects as assigned.
- Provide software development life cycle support, including conduct of technical requirements analysis, design, development, performance measurement, verification and validation, deployment, change management, and transition.
- Work with database administrators, the quality assurance team, system engineers, network engineers, and other staff to ensure data consistency, security, and privacy.
- Actively participate in design and systems development, software configuration and customization and documentation.

- Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience
- Additional education or relevant higher-level certifications may be used in lieu of experience
- 1+ years’ experience with the Appian BPM Platform is required
- Possess and maintain a valid state motor vehicle operator's license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with software application design, development, testing, and engineering duties is desired, but not required.
- Appian A1 or A2 certification is highly desired.
- Experience with Agile and/or federal software development environments preferred.
- Experience with systems and software architecture is desired.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to listen and understand what is being described by the end user as well as the ability to explain problem resolutions when necessary.
- Strong communications skills (both written and oral), strong customer service.
- Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to analyze system functionality with customer and resolve production issues.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision or guidance.
- Ability to occasionally work after hours and/or on-call support.
