User Experience Intern – Research and Design Roles (Summer 2022)

Responsibilities

With this spirit in mind, the Principal User Experience team within the Global Brand & Experience organization is seeking User Experience intern candidates to join us for the Summer of 2022. Ideal candidates should be inherently passionate about opportunities to learn, practice, and prepare for a career in user experience in research and design disciplines. Candidates must also be willing to participate in and act as dynamic problem solvers through embracing ambiguity, curiosity, and creativity to address real-life customer challenges within the financial services industry.

As a Principal UX Intern you will:

  • Actively contribute to a creative, growth-minded team culture
  • Listen, learn, consider, and explore solutions thinking holistically for both customer and business needs
  • Conceptualize, design, present and deliver proposed solutions to product and development partner teams that complement and extend our design system
  • Think beyond the screen considering the full experience of how our product solutions align with our diverse customers' roles and life / investment goals
  • Translate research insights into opportunities
  • Communicate effectively among internal team members and external audiences alike

Key activities will include:

  • Supporting team members across projects in the planning, analysis, and presentation of qualitative customer research and user testing
  • Participating in team Design Thinking activities including secondary research, concept sketching, and prototyping
  • Supporting design system analysis and refinement of brand standards and component documentation

Qualifications

  • A recent bachelor's degree, current enrollment in an accredited university/college, or equivalent experience required
  • 3.0+ cumulative GPA
  • Working proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as HTML, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, or Invision
  • Strong preference for candidates with a portfolio that demonstrates creativity and problem-solving skills for user experience challenges
  • Involvement in design networks, student groups on campus or community organizations

This internship can be located at onsite at our corporate headquarters in Des Moines, IA, Lambertville, NJ, or remotely per your preference.
