Job Summary and Qualifications
JOB SUMMARY
This position is 20 hours per week and you will provide technical skills that cover a broad range of disciplines in basic windows platform knowledge that could be applicable to HCA environment. Knowledge would be preferred in data protection but lack of that is acceptable as it can be taught on the job. Identify, investigate, evaluate and become proficient in new technologies and technical disciplines that are of significance to HCA Healthcare. Analytical, detailed and design ability with a degree of creativity; general knowledge of usage and impact of data protection failure or prevention is required for this position. A level of self-driven nature with an ability to pick up training or issues quickly is needed to be success while having good project planning skill and decent communication skills. An Associate Systems Engineer – Data Protection will be responsible for providing technical review, engineering, administration, analysis, trending, and reporting of all supported configurations. Primary duties will include administration of the Commvault software and hardware in a multi-platform environment, technical documentation, engineering, issue resolution, and technical presentations. Specific responsibilities include installation of software products on various hardware platforms, operating system installation and customization where applicable, troubleshoot, coordinate, assist and advise in recovery from component failures of supported systems. While the Associate Systems Engineer – Data Protection will require some cross-platform knowledge, the candidate should expect a primary focus in technologies including Dell EMC Data Domain, Unity, NetApp, Cybernetics, various enterprise protection technologies (i.e.- Commvault, Zerto, Dell EMC Networker, Dell EMC Data Protection Advisor)
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The following are highlighted competencies and core expectations for the job/role: • Ability to learn the systems / platforms mentioned above • Communication, interpersonal skills to effectively work in a group setting • Attention to Detail • Self-driven to learn new technologies. • Extremely detailed oriented individual • Troubleshooting Skills and desire to resolve them • Ability to effectively communicate and present ideas to various engineer levels, management levels and end users • Assists in developing and executing plans for disaster recovery. • Monitor daily backup performance and identify issues that needs to resolved daily. • Documents IT&S data protection processes and procedures; apply efficiency solutions to existing processes. • Perform implementations for multiple hardware and software platforms to ensure interoperability of different operating systems and complex environments. • Participation in afterhours support - on-call rotation • Participate in Day to Day troubleshooting of process and backup failures, including software and hardware technology issues. • Utilizing Automation tools to streamline processes. • Opening problem tickets with appropriate vendors and working to resolution.
Less than 1 year of relevant work experience working 20 hours per week
Associate's degree require; Bachelor's degree preferred

Focused and versatile team player who is comfortable under pressure. Ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete objectives. Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. No previous Commvault experience required Knowledge of standard windows operation systems and functions. Knowledge of standard networking & TCPIP / DNS

Sitting for extended periods of time. Ability to work remotely while staying focused Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects.
