ROLE PURPOSE

Collects and analyses data to identify trends and provide our customers and management teams with valuable information to improve operational and businesses practices; to provide in-depth analysis that will support our customers in making effective and robust decisions.

An understanding of a broad range of data is required to help our customers make sense of complex issues; the role is more than the collection and analysis of data; it is about making data accessible to those who need the information to streamline business processes, spot trends and offer solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Using data mining to extract information from data sets and identify correlations and patterns; providing data analysis, insight, and interpretation across a range of business management information and core data sources / systems.
  • Proven ability to recognise and extract critical indicators from large and complex data sets; able to interpret and express indicators in a business context through effective and succinct management reporting.
  • Contributes to improved delivery of metrics reporting and predictive trends analysis
  • Communicates with stakeholders to understand data content and business requirements
  • Organising and transforming information into comprehensible structures
  • Using data to predict trends in customer base and consumer population
  • Using tools and techniques to visualise data in easy-to-understand formats, such as diagrams and graphs
  • Preparing reports and presenting these to management and our customers
  • Identifies and makes recommendations for new ways to improve business efficiency by streamlining processes
  • Monitors data quality and removes corrupt data
  • Identifies opportunities for knowledge sharing and cross training with the wider team
  • Manages and maintains all reporting and analysis outputs
  • Contributing to meetings, workshops or other activities to gather requirements, design outputs and plan implementation of deliverables of various initiatives.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

  • Educated to degree level in a business, finance, mathematics, economics or statistical based subject (or other relevant subject areas / equivalent relevant experience).

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation; having the ability and confidence to check and challenge assumptions around data interpretation.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is essential
  • Proven experience in data analysis, data preparation, data quality measurement and data analysis and visualisation tools including Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrate excellent understanding of cloud data analytics techniques
  • Possessing firm understanding of how to create high quality analytics and translate them into value added decisions and actions.
  • First class problem solving and analytical skills; able to identify key trends from complex and detailed data
  • Strong financial awareness; able to assess commercial viability/outcomes through effective data analysis and research.
  • Proven ability to process / interpret large amounts of information quickly and to tight timescales.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; can interact comfortably with internal and external customers.
  • Able to work individually without supervision and as part of a broader matrix team.
  • Is an engaging self-starter, enthusiastic and confident.
  • Is aware of the need for confidentiality in dealings with internal and external clients, and of GDPR/data protection principles.
  • Solid experience working with people, data and developing dashboard reporting
  • Keeps up-to-date on latest market developments relating to data analysis and reporting.
  • A highly reliable, personable, energetic, professional attitude; willingness to do what it takes to get the job done, correctly and on time
  • Experience at working both independently and in a multi-disciplinary-team collaborative environment.
  • Well-developed influencing skills, strength of character, tenacity, and cultural sensitivity; is persuasive and effective.
