Training Systems Design Specialist - Junior
Overview
GCIO is seeking a candidate for the position of Training Systems Design Specialist to support a contract for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The Training Systems Design Specialist will be responsible for the design and execution of training documentation for multiple product lines across an agile environment.
Responsibilities
The Training Systems Design Specialist will:
- Serve on a team of developers and data management professionals and develop subject matter expertise within the federal IT environment.
- Develop open-ended training, primarily focused on the needs coming out of ServiceNow Tier III support
- Support the analysis of training request tickets and determining the best form and method for training development
- Lead discussion with end users on functionality to understand the training needs
- Lead dialogue with field personnel to explain trainings upon complete
- Develop recurring reports such as Weekly and Monthly Activity Reporting to include progress, risks/issues, etc.
- Assist in policy development and business strategy planning.
- Proactively build and manage relationships with key stakeholders across a range of levels and business functions.
- Communicate initiatives for IT and data management goals and governance with opportunities for promoting emerging IT.
- Adhere to team quality assurance measures to develop high-quality, error-free materials and deliverables
- Leverage interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills, attention to detail, deliver against timelines, and participate in business development opportunities.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in training development, preferably within the Federal workspace.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must be able to attain DHS Suitability (active suitability a plus)
- Skill with Microsoft Office (specifically PowerPoint and Excel), MS Team, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, Visio, and similar project management software.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management, must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to think out of the box while communicating or dealing with a variety of situations.
- Possess clear understanding of the activities, roles, and responsibilities involved in Federal consulting engagements.
- Ability to foster collaborative relationships with other cross-functional teams.
