Systems Software Engineer Intern at Vertica -Summer 2022 (REMOTE / WORK FROM HOME)

Vertica provides a state-of-the-art Big Data Analytics platform that handles petabytes of data. It is a commercially successful, high performance, distributed database. We build tools which support many different use-cases, being flexible enough to be used for many applications. In this position, you would work on the core query engine components of Vertica, building features, improving performance, and fixing bugs. Write high performance C++ code! Figure out tricky concurrent algorithms! Create designs which will support parallelism and concurrency!

The ideal candidate has knowledge of: (bold items required)

• C/C++

• Multi-threading

• Essential algorithms and data structures

• Excellent technical communication

• SQL

• Distributed systems

• Database internals.

You must be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
