Profile Summary:
The IT Strategic Sourcing Intern will join a team of professional negotiators that comprise the IT sourcing team and gain an exposure to a vibrant, fast-paced corporate environment.
Availability:
  • Intern must be available for 15-20 hours per week during 9am-6pm ET on weekdays during school year.
  • Preference for interns located within commuting distance of Windsor, CT, Atlanta, GA, or Chandler, AZ but open to any location in the US for the right candidate.
  • Position will start fully remote however it has been designated as hybrid-office/home. Details of your in-office schedule will be finalized with your manager.
Profile Description:
The qualified candidate will:
  • Learn the fundamentals of business negotiations and contracting;
  • Gain direct experience with the full end-to-end sourcing process from inception of a project to execution of the contract;
  • Gain insights into the different negotiation and contracting approaches across multiple commodities including software, SaaS, PaaS, cloud, hardware, telecommunications, and IT services;
  • Lead a project(s) in support of the IT Sourcing team and provide a presentation to the department at the conclusion of the internship explaining the value brought to the company by successfully completing the project;
  • Learn the importance of staying closely aligned with our internal customers and collaborating with key matrix partners in Information Security, Legal, Privacy, Risk, and Enterprise Architecture;
  • Gain an appreciation for the complexity of technology licensing negotiations and how our department strives to be on the cutting edge of strategic negotiations using a series of best practices and innovative contract templates;
  • Learn to use corporate technologies such as our contracts repository, ERP, e-signature platform, and other key tools;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • Open to all majors
  • Students with an anticipated graduation date of May 2022 preferred
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to clearly and succinctly communicate by phone, video calls, and email
  • Ability to work at a sustained fast pace while balancing several projects with tight timelines
  • Possess an extraordinary attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • An interest in contracts drafting and interpretation
