IT Intern
The State of Utah's Division of Technology Services (DTS) is currently looking for intern candidates to work at The Department of Health. This position will have the opportunity to work on development and testing teams on multiple projects. The teams’ uses agile development practices for new development and enhancing existing software. All work is done in a team setting with a focus on team accountability and success. This is a remote with some in office position, and interns must be attending school in the SLC area. This is a part time, non-benefitted, 30 hour a week position.
This position can be filled as either a workability intern or a regular intern.Work remotely with some in office (from anywhere in Utah) Office located at Cannon Health Building 288 No 1460 West SLC, Utah.

Preference may be given to those with a degree in CS and at least a Junior in the second semester of Computer Science degree.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate as a team member in planning sprints, software design, and developing and testing features
- Provide feedback to colleagues through code reviews and pair programming

Education & Relevant Experience:
- Have started in 3rd year of coursework for a BS/BA in Computer science (Junior or Senior year), information systems, or other technology/science degree.
- Must be currently enrolled at the University.
- Employment contingent on passing a drug screening and a background check.
- Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
