Applications System Analyst/Programmer (Jr.)

Able to obtain Public TrustThe Aviation Logistics Center is the hub for the Coast Guard aviation support, which includes the missions of aviation depot level maintenance, structural engineering, spare parts warehousing, and information service needs. This site provides Aviation Logistics that enable Coast Guard mission execution, including: Depot Level Maintenance, Engineering, Supply, Procurement, and Information Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs in all phases of systems\software development and implementation with special emphasis on study and analysis, and testing and acceptance phase
- Performs evaluation of current IT operations in order to determine multi-year projections for personnel, hardware, and software
- Participates in hardware/software evaluations
- Supports systems analysts, as well as Government personnel to ensure problems have been properly identified and that solutions shall satisfy the customer's requirements
- Provides technical expertise and guidance in IT specialties not covered by other specialists
- Performs systems analysis in a specialized IT area, e.g., telecommunications, operating systems software, software/hardware integration, software validation and verification
- Be capable of defining all change request policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and SOPs in an Agile Environment.
Required Qualifications:
- US Citizen able to pass the required background check to hold a Homeland Security Clearance.
- 2 Years of IT experience
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technologies
- Experience with Cognos and SQL
- Experience with some of the following Platforms (Linux, Solaris, AIX)
- Experience with some of the Applications (IBM Tivoli / Netcool Suite, IBM Tivoli / ITPM, SevOne)
- Experience with some of the Languages (C/C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML, Perl, Moose (Object Oriented Perl))
