Jr. Military Analyst (Ship Modernization)

Position Description:
Serco is seeking a Military Analyst for a NAVSEA program to assist in developing and maintaining Microsoft Office based products to manage data related to DDG Class ship modernization operations and modernization data metrics.
You will be a part of a nice size team that works closely with our Customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality systems. Bernerd Zwahlen has led this team for more than 5 years; he possesses 20 years of experience supporting shipyard modernization; and is a Navy veteran. This team has been recognized by the Navy and the industry for their outstanding contributions to the contract and program.
The Military Analyst performs assignments in the area of DDG Ship Class modernization, including data collection, compilation, and analysis. Anticipates future requirements. Assists in evaluating plans for various projects or program activities to meet requirements.

In this role, you will:
- Conducts analytical studies of DDG ship repair and modernization operations and uses a rational basis for decision making or resource allocation.
- Under supervision of the government customer, tracks metrics on the quality of programs and documents.
- Operates in multinational, interagency, joint, and service unique environments.
- Maintains extensive Microsoft Excel files for each DDG shipyard availability.
- Applies operational background, as well as academic understanding of analytic theory and principles to assist in solving current and/or future mission needs or to correct problem areas.
- Assists in preparing or coordinating the preparation of Microsoft Office based products as required.
- Participates in working groups, program development forums, analytical activities, readiness exercises, training, education, and other forums as required to accomplish contract requirements.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- An Active DoD Govt Issued Secret Clearance is required.

A Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years directly relevant work experience is required.
- In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 5 years applicable work experience. .
- Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.
Additional desired experience and skills:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required.
