Job Summary
We are looking for analytical, innovative, curious, and organized thinkers to join our Personal Lines Research & Development summer internship program.

Research & Development offers an exciting combination of research projects and business problems. We use an eclectic mix of modeling approaches to build industry-leading risk pricing models, measure performance, and inform strategy. Such techniques include generalized linear models, neural networks, decision trees, finite mixture models, cluster analysis, factor analysis, and multivariate statistical analysis.
As an intern you will develop and present a project to senior leadership that is geared towards achieving our company strategy. You will develop crucial and highly valuable data analytics skills as well as soft skills through the course of your internship. You can expect to:
- Contribute to projects involving descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analysis leveraging a variety of statistical techniques
- Dig in by extracting data and performing segmentation and statistical analyses on large datasets (using languages/tools such as R, SAS, SQL and Python)
- Assist statisticians with research and implementation of technology using machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques
- Communicate/present findings to R&D staff and business partners
Requirements
Requirements for consideration include:
- Current student pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree in a quantitative field, such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Analytics, or other related fields with advanced coursework in statistics. 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Interest in statistical modeling techniques such as linear regression, logistic regression, and/or GLM and experience with one or more statistical programming languages such as SAS, Python, and/or R
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, methodical individuals with attention to detail and effective time-management skills
- Ability to work eight to twelve weeks during the summer
- Current and future authorization to work in the United States of America
