Where You’ll Work
As a Cigna Intern, you’re able to make a real impact, while growing and learning more about your profession of choice. As a Business Analytics intern, you’ll step into a role that will leverage your passion for curating data to build meaningful and actionable strategies.
In your role as a Business Analytics Intern you will deliver insightful and actionable intelligence to our call center leaders to improve production and enable growth in our business. You’ll be a critical consultative asset for our call center team to understand data & content, the goals of our call center, and analyze information to deliver recommendations on how to improve production.
You will gain experience understanding healthcare and developing data driven solutions to improve care delivery, while working closely with senior members of the Health Risk Operations team.

What You’ll Do:
Define, pull, and validate data needs - diving deep to infer meaning and uncover insightful data trends that inform call center production
Tell compelling stories – distil complex subject matters into simple stories that give rise to action
Assess current landscape - leverage current call center goals and production data points to offer suggestions on how to drive meaningful improvements

Mission driven - you want to make healthcare more affordable, predictable, and simple
Creative and naturally curious - you're constantly looking for ways to add-value you can't help but get immersed in the challenge of uncovering insightful data patterns
Objective, logical, and fact oriented – you’re rationale in your data discovery
Self-starter - you enjoy working with minimal supervision and thrive off independence to enable value in your own ways
Ability to make sound decisions and piece together puzzles with limited direction – you’re your own leader
Excited to assemble materials and present to audiences with poise and authority – you have a knack for captivating audiences
Highly fluent with SQL and Microsoft Excel - your friends look to you when they're stuck
Enjoys prospect of delivering win-win-win outcomes for Cigna, our Provider Partners and Patients
Excited to learn new tools & work with new technologies, like Salesforce – you would consider yourself a techie
Cumulative GPA 3.0+ preferred
Preferred Areas of Study: Business Analytics, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, Healthcare Administration, Data Science, Data and Analytics, or other related fields of study
Preferred candidate: graduate level preferred; senior level undergraduate students will be considered
Schedule: You must be available to work a 40-hour work week for 10-12 weeks summer 2022, beginning May 23, 2022.
This role can work from home from any US location.
This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
