Evernorth’s Global Data & Analytics team is seeking a 2022 Summer Intern who has a passion for data, analytics and loves working on things that make an impact. Our charge is to identify and break down barriers to care, enabling our most vulnerable and underserved populations to live their best life. In your role as a Business Intelligence (BI) Intern you will support the creation, maintenance and administration of BI Dashboards, scorecards, reports and analytics for our organization. To achieve this you will engage with a number of different groups who interact with and support our efforts, including members of the Business Intelligence Center of Excellence (BI CoE), our Engineering and Data Warehouse teams and of course our dedicated Business Users who represent a spectrum of roles; Analysts, Clinicians, Sales & Client Teams, Medical Doctors, Product Owners and others.
This role will provide you ample opportunity to learn about Healthcare, Data & Analytics and Business Intelligence as well as the tools & methodologies used to help arm the Cigna & Evernorth businesses with insights to make the best decision in support of care delivery.
What You’ll Do:
Define, pull, and validate data - diving deep to infer meaning and uncover insightful data trends which inform local market decisions. Ideally SQL or Python class/experience to run basic queries.
Tell compelling stories – distill complex subject matters into simple stories that give rise to action
Build Dashboards – Build front-end BI dashboards in Tableau or ThoughtSpot
Data Research - Analyze data sources, data quality and document data models and lineage
Define Best Practices – Assist with documentation of CoE “how to” and “best practices” guidance
Qualifications:
Rising Senior pursuing degree in Healthcare Administration, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Data and Analytics, or other related fields of study with a cumulative GPA 3.0+ preferred
Someone who relates to the world, through data - without data, you feel lost

Highly fluent with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint - your friends look to you when they're stuck

Schedule: You must be available to work a 40-hour work week for 10-12 weeks summer 2022, beginning May 23, 2022.
This role can work from home from however, geographical preference is CT/MA.
One goal of this internship program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for roles with Cigna post-graduation. Therefore, this temporary internship is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
