Overview
Outlier Events is seeking candidates who are self-starting and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment for spring, summer and fall internship positions. Flexible internship opportunities are available. Outlier Events Interns will be immersed in the culture of live events and will gain administrative, logistical and event management experience. As a part of the internship, candidates will have the opportunity to work with Outlier Events at events all across the Midwest and see first hand how preparation aids in the outcome of a successful event. Candidates will work remotely and be expected to attend our 9 predetermined live events for 2022. Monthly stipend provided, travel expenses will be reimbursed, other perks included. Internship will start at varying dates based on your position and go until October 31, 2022.

Ideal Candidate
Candidates must have a strong desire to further their experience and growth within the live events/entertainment industry. Candidates must be reliable, self-motivating and eager to learn. Candidates must be able to work 20+ hours per week remotely. Candidates are able to receive college credit based on the specific requirements from their school. Candidates must be able to travel to events.

Position Requirements:
  • Students in their junior/senior year are recommended but all are welcome to apply with preferred fields of study in Sports Management, Event Management, Business Management, Marketing/Media, Communications, or Hospitality
  • Some experience in sports or entertainment industry is highly preferable
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast pace events environment
  • Effective time management skills
  • Strong Computer Skills
  • Is expected to travel to events (dates and locations will be provided prior to start of internship)
POSITION DETAILS:
  • Media/Marketing/Communications Internship
    • Photographing the events for social media posts, future marketing materials, etc.
    • Capturing video of events for social media, marketing materials, media relations, etc.
    • Plans the social media calendar and content
    • Creates social media and website content (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, Wix.com)
    • Creates graphics when needed
    • Creates signage, brochures, other print materials for events (design background required. Experience with Adobe suite preferred).
    • Comfortable writing press releases and reaching out to news outlets for media coverage.
