Junior System Administrator
Description: Work from Home (WFH) - Remote work must be performed while residing in San Diego, California.

Summary
In this role, the successful individual will protect our critical information, systems, and assets, build solutions, troubleshoot, implement new software and hardware, provide staff training, provide helpdesk support, and assist in the development of an overall IT strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain software, hardware and operating systems on workstations, laptops, and servers
- Install, support and maintain both physical and virtual network servers and appliances
- Office 365 administration and compliance
- Perform Active Directory administrations, create user accounts/reset passwords in local AD and Azure AD, create sites and services, etc.
- Administer network performance monitoring NPM
- Maintain ticketing system and provide technical support when needed
- Perform system backups for future recovery and ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models
- Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and diagrams
- Troubleshoot issues and outages
- Promote collaboration with other staff members and participate in the implementation of new projects, ideas, etc.
. Requirements:
- 2+years of experience supporting Microsoft products and technology
- 2 years of hands-on experience working with VMware / Hyper-V
- Microsoft Azure and Office 365 experience preferred
- Detailed oriented with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal, written and documentation skills required
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with other team members
- Experience with backup, antivirus and anti-malware/spyware solutions
- Problem solve rapidly and effectively, in a timely manner
- Must have strong work ethic to work independently with minimal supervision
- Highly ethical employee capable of handling sensitive information, following confidentiality guidelines
- Excellent organizational skills while working on fast-paced environment
- Ability to multi task
- Works with a sense of urgency, while engaging and listening to experts
- Exhibits a high degree of flexibility in adapting to a rapidly changing environment
- Proficient in the use of standard Microsoft Office software products, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel required

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, hours are flexible, within our regular business hours. Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required.

- Ability to type, use a computer to search for information and input information while speaking on the phone is required.
- Requires daily use of a personal computer and related software applications at a workstation.
- Requires completion of some tasks that require reaching, bending, grasping, and making repetitive hand movements in the performance of daily duties.
- Requires prolonged sitting and or standing at a workstation for 6.5 to 7 hours per day.
- Requires dependability and excellent attendance records.
- Requires occasional travel to conduct CIAT business.
- Occasionally ascend and descend ladders to service or install IT equipment, like cable, router, etc.
- Constantly positions self to maintain computers in the lab/classroom, including under the desks and in the server closet.
- Frequently moves IT equipment weighing up to 40 pounds across campus for various classrooms and event’s needs.
- The employee will be required to compute simple to simple mathematical calculations as a normal part of this role.
