Overview:
Crestron Interns and Co-Ops can expect to be challenged with meaningful projects and tasks alongside professionals and subject matter experts in the field. Interns and Co-Ops are assigned a dedicated mentor who will be responsible for their development and acclimation to the company. Crestron will also provide a variety of training and networking opportunities to participants in the program, seeking to present participants with a comprehensive experience that enhances technical and non-technical skill sets and to prepare students for their professional careers. Crestron Electronics continues to experience rapid growth as we invest in resources and create new opportunities; as a result, we have an exciting opportunity for a Summer 2022 Intern to join our Systems Engineering Department in either Plano, TX or Rockleigh NJ. This role has been designated as 100% remote.

- Work with design leads to create compelling interactive experiences
- Conduct usability research to gather and evaluate user goals in collaboration with project teams
- Design user flows and personas for user-centered analysis
- Gauge the usability of new and existing products to identify and troubleshoot UX problems
- Design low level wireframes and/or detailed mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate solutions through iterative design
- Proactively solicit feedback from stakeholders and the UX team to improve deliverables
- Conduct usability testing to validate design solutions and identify areas for improvement
- Work closely with a mentor to achieve a completed project by the end of the internship period
- Communicate with the rest of the UI/UX team in a professional manner
- Attend daily calls with the teams to provide a current status and assessment of any challenges that may come up
General Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a college or university working toward a bachelors degree in UX/UI Design, Visual Communications, Human-Computer Interaction, Marketing, Cognitive Science, or closely related field
- Must be available to work up to 40 hours per week during the entire internship period
- Must have permanent, unrestricted work authorization in the United States now and in the future
Technical Skills
- Understanding of HTML and CSS
- Experience with tools such as Figma or Adobe XD
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Understanding of UX/UI best practices
- Identifiable design and graphical skills
Other Skills:
- Must be responsible, self-motivated, creative, have a solid work ethic and have a desire to produce a quality product
- Strong communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, written, and listening) with the ability to articulate work at different levels of the organization
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Inquisitive individual with a desire to learn, possessing a long term desire to work in the UX/UI Design space
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
- Positive, personable, and able to work cohesively with other across various divisions
