The Main Responsibilities
This internship role will be within our Cloud Applications team in our Strategic Planning and Transformation organization. The intern will have a cross-functional opportunity to work within, Engineering, Architecture and Testing teams to build solutions as close to the edge as possible. The ideal intern for this role will have a basic understanding and skills in one or more of these areas, and a desire to explore cloud software development, product delivery and cloud computing. This role requires a love of learning and problem solving. The intern should have an interest in cloud application development with a mindset to take initiative, be resourceful and curious, not afraid to ask questions and make suggestions with new ideas.
Focal point of the role is the Lumen Cloud- Work with AGILE methodologies and principles as
- Work within Architect team to assess business and operational impact of solution, propose custom solutions that differentiate Lumen’s services, and meet requirements and goals.
- Opportunity to work with testing team to write APIs and UI development
- Work with development team to design, develop, code, test and debug new complex software or significant enhancements to existing complex software
What We Look For in a Candidate
- Education:
- Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or master’s level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2022 – June 2023.
- Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical degree.

Proficiency and understanding of
- Experience with Python and Go
- Familiar with; Java,/J2EE, JavaScript, HTML, Spring Boot, camel, jQuery, Java8 or higher
- Familiar with technologies such as; SOAP, RESTful Web Services, micro-services, Swagger, Spring Boot, Spring, SQL, SOAP Services, REST Services, GIT, Maven.
- Experience with data structuring in XML or JSON

Work Setting
- The position will be in one of the following offices: Town & Country MO or work from home/remote.
- Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours be week during the 10-week program (June 3– August 12, 2022)
- Intern must have reliable transportation to/from work location (Lumen does not provide transportation to/from Lumen office locations)
- US work authorization required
