The Role
Be a part of an internship program, driving human progress through technology. During a 10- week period our summer interns innovate and make an impact by transforming industries across the globe and changing the world one connection at a time. Our interns are presented with real business challenges and provide solutions that make a difference across all areas of the company, all while learning the skills needed to successfully navigate the modern workplace.

The Main Responsibilities
As a Project Manager Intern in our North America Operations organization, you will work collaboratively with our Network Implementation team to manage and coordinate large initiatives within the North American Operations. Tasks during the 10 weeks will have impact on internal sectors of Lumen. Project Management interns will have the potential to manage fiber deployments throughout the US.
- Help with research of new projects alongside program manager
- Assist with Quantum Fiber Build
- Works with other team members and subject matter experts to resolve certain questions that are received
- Accountable for timely project management
- Track and manage actions items to ensure project success
What We Look For in a Candidate
- Education Requirements
o Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Operation management, Engineering, Business Management, or related field
o Technology background is a plus
- Proficiency and understanding of:
o General technical acumen
- Professional Attributes
o Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities.
o Ability to prioritize with good time management skills.
o Good problem-solving skills and ability to methodically work through complex issues.
o Ability to take direction and produce results from it
o Ability to collaborate and have agility while making effective decisions
o Desire to work on a team in a very collaborative setting
o Strong work ethic
o Exceptional ability to develop successful relationships at all levels in a professional, diligent and courteous manner.
o Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Work Setting
o Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours be week during the 10-week program (June – August)
o Intern must have reliable transportation to/from work location (Lumen does not provide transportation to/from Lumen office locations)
