The Summer Associate Graduate Intern Program is a 10+ week program beginning in June 2022 and ends in August 2022. The long-term intention for this program is to hire interns that prove their aptitude into full time roles. To qualify for an internship, applicants must be currently pursuing a graduate or PHD level degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date after the final day of the internship (December 2022 or later).

Department
Member Research & Intelligence Division (MRID) is focused on delivering actionable insights to business units across the organization. We help infuse data into all areas of marketing decision making and provide a holistic approach to truly understand what our members ‘Think’ ‘Feel’ ‘Say’ and ‘Do’. The data scientists in the group have the skill, expertise, infrastructure, and passion to mine big data to detect, decipher, and predict member needs that empower business units to offer outstanding service to our members.

The Summer Associate will work on an identified data science project – typically focusing on generating data driven insights that help understand our members and prioritize the most effective marketing actions to improve member experience.

Projects are a great opportunity for those who are passionate about data, have the curiosity to learn new techniques and tools to extract value from it, enjoy connecting the dots, and an opportunity to influence decision makers.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze data to answer business questions identified in a proposed project
  • Proactively work with teams in marketing to understand different business perspectives
  • Develop and present insights and business recommendations to marketing leadership

Potential Projects
  • Understanding the factors impacting brand choice in banking
  • Analysis of longitudinal data to understand customer loyalty

Qualifications
  • Pursuing a master’s degree in a quantitative field or relevant coursework
  • Knowledge/experience in data science techniques (Data Wrangling, Data Transformation, Machine Learning, Data Visualization)
  • Conceptual understanding of Marketing and Retail Banking (Preferred)
  • Ability to communicate technical results to a business audience
  • Software skills: SQL, Databricks, R, Python etc.
  • Visualization: R, Tableau, Power BI etc.
