WSP is currently initiating a search for a Junior Rail Signal Engineer for our Minneapolis, MN office.
Your Impact
- Design, oversight, and management of various rail signal projects
- Ability to coordinate with clients and rail project partners
- Technical planning, design, and testing of rail signal Infrastructure
- Strong understanding of North American requirements for project implementation
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).
- Work collaboratively with other engineers, planners, scientific professionals, and infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant post education experience in engineering discipline and prior transit and rail experience.
- Engineer in Training Certification.
- Experience with private and public transportation projects
- Experience with railroad and rail transit signaling projects
- Experience working with AutoCAD and MicroStationrkweek.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering.
- Essential Professional Licensure/Certification.
- Design and construction experience with transit and railroad signaling for train control and grade crossings
- Professional engineer license
- Ability to travel up to 20%
