The UCB team is looking for a motivated summer intern to join our Safety Statistics Teams. The team is responsible for innovating new methods for evaluating the safety of drugs being developed for neurological and immunological diseases. The primary focus is on assessing and communicating the benefit-risk tradeoffs essential to decision making. The intern will be creating R Shiny applications for both frequentist and Bayesian statistical methods and novel visualizations. Software will be SAS and R, and data will be from clinical trials and medical judgement. This is a great opportunity for students to apply statistical analysis methods learned in the classroom to answer real life questions. The intern will be a true team member working with others having a range of skills and pharmaceutical experience.

A laptop and other resources necessary to support the work will be provided.

This paid internship is currently expected to run from mid-May and continue through August 2022; subject to changes in the program plan, we expect to hire an intern for a position running until August 2022, estimated at 30-40 hours per week on a flexible basis.
