Job Summary:

The Disney General Entertainment (DGE) Internal Communications team, is responsible for handling all internal and employee communication efforts as well as employee engagement initiatives for DGE. Disney General Entertainment Content (DGE) is a collection of content brands at The Walt Disney Company creating original entertainment and news programming for the company’s streaming platforms Disney+, Hulu and Star, and its cable and broadcast networks. The extensive portfolio of creative content businesses at DGE include 20th Television, ABC Entertainment, ABC News, ABC Signature, Disney Branded Television, Freeform, FX, Hulu Originals, National Geographic and Onyx Collective.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in posting content to the Inside WDT employee site.
  • Assist in the coordination of employee engagement events ranging from distributing internal employee communications, planning the logistics of employee events, to collaborating on the creation of content.
  • Assist in identifying and collecting metrics for initiatives and events.
  • Pitch in as a team player on a variety of internal projects.


Basic Qualifications:

What you bring to the role…

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Proficiency with Mac OS and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational/multi-tasking/prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to see projects through to completion; self-starter/able to take initiative.
  • Strong Interpersonal/relationship-building skills, with ability to take feedback and direction.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Ability to take direction from multiple stakeholders, balance numerous projects simultaneously, prioritize deadlines and effectively work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates moral integrity and is able to show good judgment with confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship experience within a related field.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator a plus.
  • Experience with Keynote and/or building presentations.
  • Experience with WordPress a plus

Required Education

  • Junior or Senior-level standing, or a recent graduate within 6 months of graduation date.


Additional Information:

Internship Eligibility:
  • All students must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • All students must be at least 18 years old • All candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship.
  • All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session.
  • All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.
  • All candidates must be available from January - May
  • All candidates must be willing to work 40 hours/week
  • This is a remote internship. The internship requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated work space.
