Cloud Engineering Intern

We’re looking for four Cloud Engineering Interns to join the Foundation Secure team for summer 2022.
As part of the Foundation Secure team at Zendesk, you will tackle engineering and security challenges involving the cloud products and services that Zendesk’s infrastructure is built upon. Our mission is to productize the base platform services that all Zendesk engineering teams need to be successful in the cloud. Your internship will focus on building the tools that internal engineering teams use to interact with secrets, gain access to cloud environments, and govern how those environments operate.
What you’ll be doing
Solve complex problems and provide simple, elegant solutions
Contribute to making our infrastructure simple, reliable, and easy to operate
Design and secure infrastructure for AWS and Kubernetes
Collaborate with Foundation Engineering teammates around the globe (in Copenhagen, Dublin, Melbourne, and San Francisco)
Use a wide variety of technologies, wear lots of hats (actual hats optional)
Work in an agile development environment where pragmatism triumphs over dogmatism
What you bring to the role
Required:
Currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science or related field at the time of the internship
Coding skills in at least one programming language, and a desire to pick up more
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Must be located in the United States for the full duration of the internship
Preferred:
Experience in Python or Golang
Passion for solving large scale challenges using new technologies
Great communication skills (written and verbal) that will enable successful collaboration with our global teams
Interest in working in a large public cloud (Amazon Web Services) environment
