The Healthcare Internship at Weber Shandwick is intended to provide a true learning experience combining healthcare, scientific and communications expertise.

Responsibilities:

Interns assist our public relations practitioners and healthcare/scientific communications experts on a variety of tasks, including:

  • Monitor and interpret scientific or consumer health research
  • Develop strategic media lists and outreach materials
  • Conduct research literature reviews utilizing various resources and reference scientific literature in materials
  • Learn regulatory MRL guidelines to help ensure materials comply with regulatory restrictions and guidance
  • Participate in healthcare-related brainstorms

Essential Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in the healthcare field
  • Strong written and verbal communication (familiarity with AP Style a plus)
  • Passion for creative thinking, strategy and pushing the boundaries
  • Strong organization skills, time management and attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn, question and challenge
  • Ability to multi-task, handle a fast-paced environment and fully immerse in clients' business
  • Basic research experience and the ability to identify and analyze trends
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite programs
  • Candidates should have BA or BS in a related field
