Intern for the Engineering Applications Department. The Engineering Applications Department (EAD) develops a wide variety of software applications and performs analyses for engineering needs to support civil, commercial, and national security space systems. EAD works with organizations seeking solutions for orbit visualization and planning, collision prediction, launch monitoring, anomaly investigation, structural analysis, modeling, simulation, and many other facets of space systems.
What You'll Be Doing
Design, implement, and maintain software for a variety of engineering applications, helping engineers solve space and ground system engineering problems using graphics visualization and analysis, graphical user interfaces, green software development, and mod/sim development
Participate in a number of software development activities that may include stand-alone or web-based
Participates with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners
Applies standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and/or engineering tasks
Training and mentorship will be provided

What You Need To Be Successful
Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, Aerospace engineering, or a closely related field
Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Experience in at least one object-oriented programming language
Agility to quickly learn new programming languages
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Must be able to obtain a security clearance, US Citizenship required
