What Your Job Will Be Like
We are seeking a Year Round - Technical Undergraduate Intern to join our dynamic team! Sandia National Laboratories Ballistic Missile Weapons (BMWs) Integrated Stockpile Evaluation (ISE) Department 7252 seeks to hire a motivated year round College student (10-40 hours per week, generally full time during the summer) to assist the BMW weapon systems surveillance programs.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Become familiar with:
- Data analysis
- Test flow/coordination
- Other testing and data related tasks that support the stockpile evaluation process.
- Receive guidance and support from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the department. The successfull candidate will be able to apply their engineering skills while helping the BMW organization carry out its vital mission.
- Deliverables will be defined and the successful candidate will be expected to document their results.

Qualifications We Require
You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:
- Currently attending and enrolled full time in a related accredited undergraduate program
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
- Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
- U.S. citizenship
Qualifications We Desire
- Pursuing a BS degree in Electrical Engineering
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2
- Qualified individuals should possess an interest in learning new techniques to evaluate test data for many different applications.
- Applicants should be self-starters, have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate excellent organization skills

About Our Team
The Ballistic Missile Weapons Integrated Stockpile Evaluation Department is responsible for the Sandia nuclear weapons Surveillance Program on Navy and Air Force ballistic missile warheads. This department consists of technical staff that manage system level laboratory and flight testing on weapons sampled from the W78, W87, W76-0, W76-1/2, W88 and W88 ALT stockpiles with development of surveillance programs on the AFA, W87-1, and W93. The staff in this department develop testing requirements, implement evaluation programs, analyze data results, investigate anomalies, and report annually on the Stockpile Evaluation test program by teaming with diverse teams from Sandia, DoD, NNSA, and other nuclear weapons complex personnel.

Security Clearance
