Stipend:
All US-based interns are paid a monthly stipend of $650

Hours:
Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (20-40 hours/week)

Work Location:
(Remote • Within the US) All Internship opportunities are available (for US citizen/resident or F1-student visa) in states where WVI is registered as an employer. These states include: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Colombia (Washington D.C.), Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

Advocacy Support Intern

Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Social Science, International Affairs, Journalism, or related fields.

Eligibility

All candidates must meet the following requirements:
At least 18 years of age.

Able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Eligible to work in the United States (US Citizen/resident or F1-student visa).

Current student or recent graduate from an undergraduate/graduate programme (within 2 years).

Adhere to World Vision International’s Christian Statement of Faith.

Willingness to use own electronic devices for internship purposes, and disposition to let WVI install endpoint security software in those devices.

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION

The Advocacy and External Engagement (A&EE) team is leading a global campaign to end violence against children, one of the strategic initiatives of Our Promise to the most vulnerable. Additionally, our advocacy work at the UN aims at ensuring we are "Looking Outward" as we engage with key stakeholders to elevate our faith identity and position the Partnership as a global thought leader on humanitarian and development work for children.
As an intern, you will learn how to advocate on strategic priorities in the context of the UN (Governments led international organization). Furthermore, you will learn about sustainable development and how it can contribute to advancing the well-being of children and leaving no one behind.

The intern’s responsibilities will include:
Contribute to WV advocacy at the UN and for the global External Engagement team to advance A&EE team priority agendas and its work with Civil Society partnerships (platforms, coalitions, etc.).

Disseminating advocacy messages and news through social media (Twitter and YouTube).

Support actions agreed at meetings with Civil Society partners regarding advocacy work via webinars, social media, mapping, a compilation of documents, and others.

Capturing UN Member States policy positions on WV priority themes, particularly A&EE priority agendas.

Support internal coordination on external engagement key events and/or moments.

Support EE Network including the development of high-level briefings for intel sharing.

Learn about and support outcomes reporting and the development of M&E for global External Engagement.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Able to work on own initiative.

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Commitment towards the goals, mission, and vision of WV.
