The Tanzu Desktop team is a new team within the Modern Applications and Management Business Group (MAMBG) focused on developer experiences in the inner loop using Kubernetes and Tanzu products. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team with high potential impact and visibility in the organization.

As an intern on the Tanzu Desktop team:

• You will learn and apply new technologies (Kubernetes, Typescript, Go), best design practices and usability patterns
• You get to contribute to end-to-end system architecture, working with a team of experienced engineers
• You get to collaborate with the UX team, product managers and other technical teams to create a delightful user experience.

What are skills that would be helpful for a successful internship?

• Pursuing a BS or MS in CS or equivalent required
• Familiar with Typescript and Go languages
• Exposed to modern software development lifecycle processes and tools through past internships or school projects
• Familiar with cloud, Kubernetes, and containerization concepts
• Strong communication and ability to working a teamwork driven environment
• Proven CS, OOP/OOD, design patterns Experience developing IDE extensions for modern open-source IDEs and tools, such as Visual Studio Code
• Experience with Cloud based services, Microservices, a Cloud Computing class or similar experience
• Previous internship experience is a plus

Where is this role located?

Fixed: Your new intern employment will be based out of the location/office the team aligns to. For this role we would be anticipating the intern to be located at our Palo Alto office for the internship duration.
