Student Assistant - Graphic Design (Sac State Students) - REMOTE

The College of Engineering and Computer Science located on the Sac State campus is looking for a part time student to assist with the production and design of printed and digital marketing materials for the College of Engineering & Computer Science Internship & Career Services Office.
Conditions of Employment
This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.
University Enterprises Inc., (UEI) requires all newly appointed employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide proof of either a medical or religious exemption.
Depending on the type of position you are applying for, a pre-employment background check consisting of one or more of the following may be conducted: employment history, professional references, criminal check, educational verification (i.e., degree, license, or official transcript) and physical exam and drug urinalysis test. Applicants will be required to pass required pre-employment checks to the satisfaction of University Enterprises Inc., (UEI) and the hiring Agency or Department.

Work Schedule
Between 15 – 20 hours, flexible hours, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm. Final work schedule to be determined by supervisor.
Additional Work Schedule
Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 20 hours per work week (Sunday – Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per work week during breaks; (Winter, Spring & Summer).

Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a 2.0 GPA.
- Be available for 15 – 20 hours a week.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop).
- Proficiency in computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Ability to organize, prioritize and execute projects while maintaining tight deadlines and quick turnarounds.
- Ability to work independently as well as in partnership with a team.
- Able to implement consistent brand/visual elements across a project.
- An effective communicator, both written and oral.
- Detail orientated and well organized.
- Proficient in writing and editing copy for marketing materials.
- Familiar with current graphic design trends.
Prerequisites
Must be a college student attending classes during the regular term (Fall, Spring and Winter, if applicable), at an accredited college or university. Must be enrolled at a minimum in: six semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduate students; four semester units or six quarter units for graduate students.
Preferred Qualifications
- Major or minor in graphic design or related field preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Meeting regularly with supervisor and/or director to provide an update on work related projects and existing graphic design needs.
- Monitoring and updating inventories of printed materials.
- Communicating with professional staff regarding design and promotional needs.
- Coordinating with internal and external printing departments to ensure deadlines are met and publication materials are printed.
- Attending university/department events, training sessions and workshops to acquire knowledge of marketing trends.
- Crossed Train on Handshake vetting.
Physical Requirements
Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers and scanners with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an home office environment.
