Where You’ll Work
The Accredo Rare Disease Pharmacy team is looking for self-motivated and curious individuals who are interested in joining a dynamic team. As the Rare Therapeutic Resource Center (TRC) works towards URAC COE Accreditation, the intern could fill a critical role in keeping the team on track with requirements, assisting the pharmacist with patient care, and providing value to our customers by diving into our value prop as a TRC. The intern would gain invaluable experience in specialty pharmacy as well as in Rare Disease, the most cutting edge specialization in the market right now. This would promote continued growth in Rare. Ideally, the intern would want to join the Rare team as a pharmacist upon graduation.

What You’ll Do

The intern will be responsible for:
Order processing, clinical assessments and welcome calls
Medication profile including allergy, height/weight updates, etc.
Project would be assigned to test the following hypothesis: Patients that accept clinical services in Rare have better clinical outcomes than
Patients that do not accept those services or similar project. The project would involve data mining, research, analysis, and a final presentation to leadership on those findings
All tasks would be performed under the supervision of a pharmacist

Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled in a PharmD program, preferably in 3rd or 4th year with a 3.0 GPA or higher
Advanced problem-solving skills
Advanced Microsoft Office software experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to share opinions and take risks
Takes initiative, independent thinker and worker
Strong analysis skills and familiarity with pharmacy models
Ability to develop and model hypotheses and conclusions while identifying assumptions

Schedule: You must be available to work a 40-hour work week for 10-12 weeks summer 2022, beginning May 23, 2022. ​

This role can work from home however, incumbent must geographically reside in the state of TN.

One goal of this internship program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for roles with Cigna post-graduation. Therefore, this temporary internship is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
