OUTREACH INTERNSHIP
Summary
The Town of Chapel Hill has four major public input projects occurring in January, 2022:

American Rescue Plan funding input
- Americans with Disabilities Act survey
- Peoples Academy registration
- Town News survey
The applicant would assist the Project Manager in executing a combined public outreach plan. The input plan includes in-person events such as office hours at Town Hall, input cafes at local coffee shops, and voting booths at community centers and the Chapel Hill Public Library; online input from nonprofits and community members; and other outreach methods that will generate community member data. The goal is to get input and engagement from all parts of the Chapel Hill community across all age, race, gender, socioeconomic, and geographic groups. All input forms and surveys will be translated into multiple languages.
An ideal applicant will be a fast learner who is comfortable with data, talking to the community, and fast paced projects.
Essential Functions
Location:
Public input opportunities will take place across Chapel Hill and data analysis and management can be completed remotely.
Timing:
Minimum of January, possibly into February or March as applicant’s time allows

- Federal grant and ADA transition planning
- Networking with local leadership
Minimum Qualifications
Undergraduate student who is:

Willing to chat with diverse communities
- Comfortable with spreadsheets and online forms (ie Survey Monkey)
Requirements:
20-40 hours per week for at least January
Compensation:
$16.00/hour for up to $2,560/month
