Content Management/Editing Intern
Overview
Worldreader, a global edtech non-governmental organization, believes readers build a better world. As such, it provides digital reading solutions to marginalized and vulnerable communities in the Global North and South. In support of its reading programs, Worldreader seeks to provide global employees with a comprehensive and user-friendly resource for internal documents, employee handbook and policies and procedures and requires the support of a content manager/editor to architect a robust document management resource.
Scope of Work
Worldreader seeks an intern to support two key projects that will further achieve its mission.

Architect internal policies and procedures. Worldreader uses Confluence, a web-based corporate wiki designed for teams, to house critical information for employees. The Content Management/Editing Intern will work with our admin team to develop a document management structure to support policy information critical to our global team.
- Edit existing policies and procedures to a unified style/voice and organize revised content into content management system structure. The Content Management/Editing intern will engage with global staff in the areas of compliance, finance, administration and HR to finalize revisions of policies and procedures and migrate content to Confluence.
Timeframe
Worldreader seeks a Content Management/Editing intern for a period of up to 4 months during the Spring 2022 academic semester for approximately 10 hours/week for the duration of the internship.
Deliverable
The primary deliverable of this internship is a comprehensive and user-friendly online resource that contains internal documents, employee handbook, and policies and procedures A final report and/or presentation of the projects will be presented to an internal Worldreader committee at a determined date closer to the end of the projects.
Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate basic knowledge of usability, technical writing, content management, web creation, and information design.
- This internship is US-based but can be remote within the US
- University student, ideally in Tech Comm or UX degree program
- Strong writing/editing skills
- Commitment to time frame
- Ability to work effectively in a remote work environment
