Junior Automation Tester

Overview:
Do you have an interest in developing systems, software, and processes that will enhance how government agencies and departments work together?

If so, we’d like to speak with you about our Test Engineer position supporting a new program/customer initiative.

The Tester is an integral part of our Verification and Validation team and is responsible for testing all software releases including new features, enhancements, and defects fixes. The candidate should be well versed in automated testing using the Proof tool from Subject-7, strong requirements analysis and test writing.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with other team members, business analyst, support team, and software developers to deliver the high quality products in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Successfully perform some manual functional test to verify web-based enterprise software solution, data integrity, security, and overall usability.
  • Create, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans and automated test cases against our hardware and software platforms based on an analysis of the requirements, user stories, use cases, and technical design specifications.
  • Ensure coverage of the software requirements through traceability.
  • Plan test strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates.
  • Provide best estimate of test efforts.
  • Successfully monitor and track system defect resolutions efforts in a timely manner.
  • Be well versed with the development of automated testing using Subject-7 or Selenium tools.
  • Accurately and clearly document system defects.
  • Participate in the use of established test processes and methodologies.
Requirements:
Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and two years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • 2 years of automation testing experience.
  • Experience testing web based applications.
  • Experience with all phases of software testing.
  • Experienced with the tool Subject 7 or Selenium.
  • Waterfall or Agile and Scrum methodology experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and timelines with minimal supervision.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience with requirements reviews.
  • In-depth knowledge of test planning, test case creation and test case execution.
  • Demonstrate experience with Oracle databases and SQL queries.
  • Experience testing in Java Apps and Web Services.
  • Tool experience with Selenium, Zephyr, Jira, and Wiki.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
