Junior Records Analyst - NPC

Position Description:

Serco supports the Navy Personnel Command (NPC) by recruiting the best quality men and women from the diverse population of our country. Our team takes care of our Nation’s Sailors (Active, Reserve and Retired) by building and maintaining their Official Military Personnel Files (OMPF). These files are critical to a Sailor’s promotions, benefits, and awards.


In this role you will be customer (Sailor and family members) facing, supporting their requirements for OMPF data, and for Record Administrative Changes. You will be managing and training an office of over 15 records managers.


JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consult with customer on analysis of business policies and processes
  • Recommend and validate improvements to process and/or procedure
  • Identify risks and mitigation strategies
  • Communicate with all team members involved in the change process
  • Document and archive as needed
  • Provide weekly monthly and on demand, status of projects to project and customer leadership
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for assigned functions and update for all function and/or policy
Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
  • 6 years of experience in customer service duties
  • Experience in Data analysis, Statistical analysis and Personnel records management
  • Proficient with MS365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Experience in proper handling of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in accordance with Department of Navy (DON) policies and procedures
  • Experience in Navy Manpower, Personnel, Training and Education (MPTE)
  • Experience with business analysis and/or Agile project management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-starter, takes initiative
