Graphics Security Research Engineering Intern - Graduate
WHO WE ARE:
We are a leading-edge Graphics Security Research Team. We own both red team and blue team activities focused on hardening the security posture of our entire graphics product line including integrated as well as discrete. We are a team of Product Security Experts advising the development teams on security best practices. We create custom fuzzers and perform research on everything from the RTL to Ring3 User Space applications. We interact with external researchers through the Product Security Incident Response Team for triaging and mitigation to ensure responsible disclosure of CVEs (Common Vulnerability Enumerations).
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
We are working on increasing our capabilities regarding Kernel Based Feedback Driven Fuzzing, and looking for someone to be a part of a team developing an API which will streamline common instrumentation tasks such as:
Specifying a process or driver module
Starting and stopping the trace
Writing the traces
Parsing the traces
Clearing the traces
We are looking for a motivated self-starter to join us. You will explore various options for instrumentation implementation such as Intel Processor Trace, Branch Trace Store, or hypervisor hooks. You will have to exercise your analytical muscles and out of the box thinking to weigh the pros/cons of various options and propose an optimal solution. You should have a strong problem-solving mindset able to navigate complex and ambiguous problem statements independently.
This will be a remote position due to the current state of the pandemic. You must be willing to provide an uninterrupted environment for conference calls as well as a stable internet connection for VPN/remote connections.
Length of internship is 6 - 12 months minimum.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
You must be currently pursuing a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with an interest in Security technology.
Understanding of feedback driven fuzzing and existing tools such as: AFL/KAFL, IPT
Experience in any of the following languages: Python, C, and/or C++
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Python/C/C++ background with Windows driver development a plus.
General understanding of secure coding principles
Software optimization
Experience in navigating WinDBG/Kernel Debug
Understanding coverage measuring tools such as Bullseye

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$52,000.00-$147,000.00
