Occupation Therapist/COTA Intern

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
To provide occupational therapy services to infants and toddlers including screenings, evaluations, assessments and treatment services in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Rhode Island early Intervention Certification Standards under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clinical performance that is consistent with the AOTA Code of ethics
- Ability to consistently utilize sound judgment in regard to the safety of self and others; adhere to safety regulations and precautions; anticipate and prevent accidents
- Ability to communicate the values and beliefs of OT to clients, families, significant others and service providers
- Ability to communicate the roles of the OT and OTA to clients, families, significant others and service providers
- Ability to make informed practice decisions based on published research and relevant informational sources
- Ability to gather data regarding the clients occupations of self-care, productivity, leisure and factors supporting or hindering occupational performance
- Ability to administer screens and assessments, interpret results, report results, and establish goals in relation to client performance in collaboration with the OT
- Ability to plan, select, implement, analyze, and modify intervention using occupation-based activity in collaboration with clients, families, significant others and service providers
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Occupational therapy student in a degree program.
- Current valid drivers license
- Current auto insurance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Physically able to perform duties including lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Required to provide own transportation.
- Required to provide a secure workspace for confidential telehealth visits.
