Are you a current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Public Health, Community Health, Health Promotion, or other related field? Do you enjoy researching meaningful topics and producing reports? If so, then the Utah Department of Health would love to have you as an Intern supporting the Tobacco Prevention and Control Program (TPCP). In this role, you will assist with projects that facilitate the prevention of youth nicotine dependence, reduce commercial tobacco product use, and focus on work with priority populations to reduce tobacco related health disparities. You will be responsible for research and reports. In order to be successful in this internship, you must be savvy with Microsoft Office and able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff. This is an indefinite, non-benefited position eligible to work up to 20 hours per week. Pay will be commensurate with experience and education. Your assigned schedule can be made flexible to accommodate availability. This position is eligible for remote work. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Working Conditions: The typical office setting for this job is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. However, you may encounter some risks that are associated with any office setting, for example, the safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.Standard Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with up to 20 hours per week. Hours may fluctuate by semester.Some travel and driving will be required with this position.Physical Requirements: Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
