How This Role Contributes to Brighthouse Financial:
The Annuity Actuarial Modeling intern will work on a team that develops and tests Prophet models pertaining to annuity products, using best in class modeling standards. This work will help Brighthouse Financial improve the processes used to develop models, enabling us to produce better models more quickly.

  • $23/hour pay; 35-40 hour work weeks (with the exception of holiday weeks)
  • 10 week summer program: 5/31/2022 to 8/5/2022
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create tools to speed modeling efforts across the department
  • Enforce best in class modeling standards
  • Maintain change management and version control
  • Implement and test new software releases
  • Effectively partner with various business units, including Valuation, Projections, and IT
Desired Profile and Technical Skills:
  • Sophomores and Juniors studying Mathematics/Finance/Actuarial Science or other STEM based major. Seniors planning to attend grad school are also eligible.
  • At least 1 actuarial exam preferred but not required
  • Working towards an actuarial career
  • Enthusiastic about learning and problem solving
  • Prior exposure to programming
