Internship Term: Summer 2022

Rivian internships are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited program during the internship term with an expected graduation date of December 2022 or May/June 2023.

Indirect Purchasing Team:

Rivian’s Indirect Purchasing Team is on a mission to enable tomorrow’s adventures through a world-class Purchasing organization. We look to partner with Rivian stakeholders to obtain the best value by seamlessly purchasing goods, services and software in a manner that is aligned with Rivian core values.

This is what you will need:

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams on a multitude of projects simultaneously.
  • Confidently autonomous coupled with humble maturity to know when to ask for help.
  • Natural and confident interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot various issues and research effective solutions.
  • Proficient in Excel for data analytics for data visualization.
  • Desire to learn new and diverse categories.
  • Strong attention to detail, high level of organization, and analytic skills to convert data into decision and insightful stories.

Nice to haves:

  • Previous internship experience, Supply Chain, Purchasing (preferably Indirect) or other Operations roles.
  • Understanding of Operations, Finance and Legal (contracts) within a manufacturing and/or technology company.

This is what you’ll do:

  • Gather market intelligence and develop vendor landscape for the Information Technology, Professional Services and Corporate Travel categories.
  • Conduct bench marking exercises for the categories named.
  • Develop and distribute RFI’s and RFPs for upcoming projects.
  • Participate in contract negotiations.
  • Project manage special projects.
  • Market research on potential suppliers for the electric vehicle industry.
  • Interface with internal stakeholders across each category while understanding their priorities and requirements.
  • Interact with key suppliers for projects and negotiations.
